Meet Bolivar Rodriguez, the Operations Planning & Forecasting Manager at goTRG, dubbed as the company’s “Swiss Army Knife.” Bolivar utilizes his sharp analytical expertise to tackle complex data sets and issues, creating models for the Operations department and generating reports for the Finance and Sales departments. In some cases, his data analysis is used to design pricing models for our clients.
goTRG is made up of more than 2000 diverse teammates across the globe operating under one vision: to revolutionize returns. With experts in every field from software and engineering to e-commerce and supply chain, we want to highlight the skilled teammates who elevate this company’s mission every day. Each month, we’ll hand over the metaphorical mic to a new goTRG teammate so you can better understand who we are and how we continually evolve as leaders in the industry.
Over to you, Bolivar...
Before joining goTRG, I spent eight years working in the logistics industry at International Logistics Solutions, where I gained experience in Customer Service, Sales, and Operations. During that time, I honed my skills in data analysis. However, I yearned for more growth and challenges. When the opportunity to join the dynamic goTRG team arose, I was unaware of the Reverse Logistics industry. However, driven by my desire to grow and showcase my abilities in a new work environment, I saw this as the perfect opportunity for me and my family.
After two years at goTRG, to say that my role is constantly evolving would be an understatement. I’ve been dubbed as “the numbers, reports, and data guy” or even “the person who lives in Sender’s office.” I’ve heard it all! However, my role at goTRG can be best described as taking large datasets to build models that help identify trends and provide insights to our Executive team.
Many of my teammates, at one point or another, have asked about the countless spreadsheets on my screen. Well, I sift through massive datasets and build models with the goal of simplifying the information. The majority of my projects are focused on building models and analyzing data for our Operations team, but I sometimes get pulled into other areas of our business. Recently, I was part of the team tasked with crafting our budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which was a result of my monthly task of helping generate the P&L. One of the projects I worked on that impacted multiple departments was the creation and development of the “master program” initiative. Working closely with our Chief Sales Officer, we designed these master programs to serve as the foundation for better understanding and managing our business.
I firmly believe in the principle of reaping what you sow. By consistently putting my best foot forward, I create opportunities for personal growth and advancement within the organization, engaging in challenging and impactful projects.
Every day, I strive to learn, grow, and contribute in any way possible. My primary goal is to continuously excel and be the best teammate I can be. To me, success means supporting my team, peers, and executives, knowing that they can rely on me to fulfill any necessary task. I firmly believe in the principle of reaping what you sow. By consistently putting my best foot forward, I create opportunities for personal growth and advancement within the organization, engaging in challenging and impactful projects.
It would be a disservice to write about myself and not mention Scott, our Chief Supply Chain Officer, who has been a mentor and friend since our first days at goTRG. His willingness to share experiences with me has given me knowledge that I apply almost daily. This mindset is shared by other team members I have worked with, which is a great part of our culture.
The driving force behind my unwavering commitment and dedication is my family. We have all had moments of frustration while sitting at our desks: computer crashes, lost files, or numbers not adding up properly. But in these moments, I simply look to my left, where I have pictures of my wife and sons. They motivate me to take a deep breath and find a way to get the job done. At the end of the day, they are the source of inspiration behind everything I do.
