Retailers are increasingly adopting "keep it" policies where customers are refunded without having to return the unwanted items due to the high costs of processing, repackaging, and reselling returned merchandise. This is particularly common for low-cost items where the financial burden of return outweighs the value. As a leader in the returns logistics space and the only end-to-end returns management solution, our Holiday Report found that 59% of companies have such policies, with 27% applying them to items priced at $20 or below. The cost of returns can be as high as 75% to 100% of the item's value, leading businesses to opt for refunding customers while letting them keep the products, as explained by goTRG CEO Sender Shamiss.
